SQRIL now supports banking apps to Scan & Pay local QR codes across Asia, Africa and Latin America

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Sept. 07, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SQRIL (pronounced squirrel), the leading Scan-to-Pay QR code payment solution for over 35 crypto wallets with a combined 250 million users, is now entering the traditional banking space by supporting banks and neobanks to enable their mobile app users to scan & pay local QR codes across Asia, Africa and Latin America.

SQRIL Founder & CEO Malcolm Weed explains, “any brick & mortar bank with a mobile app, or online-only bank can now integrate with our API and allow their user base to scan & pay local QR codes across emerging markets and pay with their home currency, while SQRIL handles the local fiat payout to the merchant in the destination country – no need to use your credit card or get foreign cash.”
